2021 was a year of incredible growth and impact for Doctor Anywhere. Since our inception, our mission had been to make healthcare simple, accessible and efficient for everyone. This year, we made great strides towards expanding and enhancing our services across the region while building up a great team.
Although the work is never finished, we’re extremely proud of what we have achieved in 2021. Here’s a look at some of the amazing work we’ve accomplished in the past year!
Same awesome service, scaled up across the region
In 2021, we brought our video-consultation and 3-hour medication delivery to even more cities in Southeast Asia.
Wherever our users were, they would be able to get a doctor over the Doctor Anywhere app within 5 minutes or less. We also went from having medication delivery in 6 cities in 2020 to ensuring a 3-hour delivery time in 33 cities, across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Philippines.
Reinforcing growth through strong partnerships and acquisitions
Our mission cannot be accomplished alone. We have established invaluable partnerships that will play an integral role in advancing us towards our mission in the coming years.
An exciting milestone had been raising US$65.8 mil in Series C fundraising in August 2021. With this round of fundraising, we welcomed new investors Asia Partners, Novo Holdings, Royal Philips, and OSK-SBI Venture Partners; as well as are privileged to have the continued support of EDBI, Square Peg, IHH Healthcare, Kamet Capital and Pavilion Capital.
Other notable milestones of this year included:
Acquiring Doctor Raksa, the biggest telemedicine platform in Thailand, to strengthen the foundation for telehealth and widen healthcare offerings in the area
Forming a joint venture with Philippine conglomerate Equicom Group to launch a tech-enabled healthcare ecosystem in the country
Partnering with IHH Healthcare’s Parkway Hospitals in Singapore to launch Specialist video-consultation services for affordable access to specialised medical advice
Partnering with OMRON to integrate of OMRON's health monitoring devices with our telehealth platform for a more comprehensive view of patient health
Played a key role to support the public healthcare system as nations transition to endemic living
Against the backdrop of the pandemic, we continue to play a key role in supporting the nations’ efforts against Covid-19.
In Singapore, since the pandemic started, Doctor Anywhere has administered more than 200,000 PCR and ART swab tests in the foreign worker dormitories, our clinics, and in the community. In the last quarter of 2021, we also provided crucial support to the Singapore Ministry of Health’s Home Recovery Programme for Covid-19 positive patients. Till date, we have cared for more than 7,000 adult patients and 2,000 child patients (aged 5 – 12 years old) on home recovery, and we continue to play a key role to support Singapore’s Covid-19 efforts.
In Thailand, on top of running ART and PCR testing services, our team also supported the Thai government’s National Health Security Office (NHSO) on their home and community isolation programme. The programme provides virtual teleconsultations and meal delivery service for Covid-19 patients, to help ease the strain on local hospitals.

The work we’ve done at Doctor Anywhere has garnered over 600 pieces of media coverage in the past year, across both regional and local media outlets in current affairs, technology, healthcare, start-ups, and business publications. We’ve also been invited to speak at a number of industry forums, roundtables, and keynote presentations.

In Thailand this year, we've expanded our provider network and partnered with more healthcare providers to pursue our mission of improving the healthcare ecosystem in the country:
Partnered with Ninja Van Thailand to provide ATK with nurse onsite-service for their riders, messengers delivery team for over 4 months
Partnered with NHSO to provide Home Isolation service for Bangkok residents. The service is still on-going
Partnered with Beiersdorf to provide ATK service for their team in December.
Exciting new developments to look forward to in the coming year
Even after a year of achievements, the work never stops! Our plans for 2022 would bring even greater convenience and personalisation to our users’ healthcare experience, by continuing to enhance our existing services to improve the user experience for everyone on our platform – from patients, doctors and healthcare providers to insurance partners, corporate HRs, and wellness service providers.
